This is a demonstration of an expert system shell based on fuzzy logic. The system can work with a variety of knowledge bases. The one used here shows how fuzzy logic can be used to rate features of mammograms for likelihood of malignancy.
To avoid interrupting the flow of this page, the rules are listed on a separate page. Clicking here will bring this up on a new tab in your browser.
To run the system, first use the sliders to enter new values. You can skip this, in which case the system will use the default value, half-way along its scale. Then press the Submit button at the bottom of the form. This will send back a new page with your results. Please note that there may be a short delay. The system generates explanations of its reasoning, and these contain a lot of graphs. Plotting them takes a little time.
